Poem "Summit"

Few are the number
who gain the mountain top.
Most have not the power
and quickly come to stop.

And jealous are these many
who fail to make their way.
So bitter and uncourageous
only emptiness in their heart.

         they see no revelation
         no route to soulful peace
they have no love for brother
         self indulgence is their goal
         and so they wonder lost
         within a sable stole

Solemn dissolution
no glory do they gain.
They fail to feel the power
as majesty unfolds.
For only at the summit
can truth be finally learned.

They accepted an imitation
so hollow and incomplete.
They are seeking for an answer
but have lost all sense of truth.
No longer are they worthy
their hopes fulfilled by sin.

They have failed to be truly faithful
and do not keep the path.
In sadness do I mourn them
they are sure to see the pit.
For they have shunned the door to safety
as heaven had been within their reach.
